         ust one month later, they met in  person for the very first time. On the peaceful paths of Little Island, overlooking the Hudson River, Sung asked Alo to be his girlfriend. Beneath the New York skyline, they said "yes" to a new beginning, unaware that this was only the first of many promises they would make to one another...

            orn in 1995 in Seoul, South Korea, Sung spent the first years of his life in his home country. At the age of ten, his family embarked on a new chapter when they answered God’s call to serve as missionaries in the United States. They first settled in St. Louis, Missouri, where his father completed his studies in Theology before the family moved to Kansas City. Several years later, they relocated to New York City where they continue their ministry today.

     n New York, Sung completed his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science as well as an associate’s degree in music production. He worked for two and a half years at the renowned company of H Mart. He is currently pursing his master’s degree in Computer Science. He is also the worship leader at his Church and speaks three languages (Korean, Hebrew and English) (soon to be four when Alo teaches him Spanish).

               lo, on the other hand, was born in Parral, Mexico in 1999 and at the age of one, her family moved to Ciudad Juarez, where she would live the next seventeen years. She was valedictorian of the 2017 class and was granted a full-ride scholarship to Nebraska Wesleyan University, She moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and pursued a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

after she graduated, she missed being close to her family and the warmth of the border people so she moved back to El Paso. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse and then a pediatric home health nurse for special children. She decided to go back to school and graduated as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 2025. She currently works at a clinic for children with epilepsy and at a primary pediatric clinic.

                   hile long distance is never easy, it was never an obtacle in Sung and Alo’s love story. Every month, Sung would visit Alo or vice versa. On February 14th , 2026, at dawn and with the white sand as their witness, Sung got down on one knee and asked Alo to marry him. In between happy tears, Alo accepted.

             very step of our journey has led us to this beautiful moment. As we join our lives together, we want nothing more than to celebrate surrounded by the people we love the most.  It would be our greatest honor to have you by our side as we begin this new chapter together.
